Acute leukemia.
She's being transferred tomorrow to MCV, where she'll spend the next month undergoing chemotherapy, losing her hair (she's planning on shaving it anyway, since she hasn't been able to wash it for the last 3 days), and getting matched for a bone marrow transplant.
Pray pray pray.

Praying, praying, praying. You have a strong, determined woman and I know she will beat this frickin' disease to the ground. Please let me know if it's ok to visit (if not, I'd like to drop something by once she's settled in at Massey). Hugs and prayers sent your way.
Prayers are being spoken almost constantly. I even have the president of RBC praying for her (not that he's any closer). Joseph includes you in his prayers, too. We love you guys! Let us know about visitation, if it will be allowed outside the family. Again, WE LOVE YOU! ~ The Stanleys
I've been praying and calling/emailing everyone I know. A couple of people have emailed me asking about doing a bone marrow drive. Is this needed or possible? Thanks for keeping us updated! I hope to be visiting soon! Love you guys!

I have already started doing some research on how to coordinate a bone marrow drive in Richmond. I'll keep everyone posted on what I find out.
Um, hi. I'm one of Manda's dorky internet friends, but I just wanted to let you know my thoughts are with y'all, and I wish you the absolute very best.
I'm am praying and meditating, and every other thing I can think of. My heart is with you, little A, and Amanda through all of this. She is incredibly strong and obviously has a wonderful support system. I'm not too far off (NC) so I'll be thinking about ways to get around there and possibly be tested as a donor.

I'm pretty sure that a Canuck like me can't volunteer to be a bone marrow donor, so all I can really do is pray for her from up here in Toronto.
